Fine Arts and Music Citation Style Guide

Guide to creating citations in Chicago 16A and Harvard for specialised resources

Important Tip: The Chicago Style has recently been updated to the 17th edition. This edition covers many more reference types, which are reflected in the Chicago A and B referencing advice on re: cite. We are currently moving all content to re: cite and this guide will be retired in 2020.

The VCA Citation Guide for Chicago 16A gives examples of how to cite resources including audio-visual material, electronic resources (blogs, podcasts, streamed audio/video etc), and many more. Click on the image to access the guide.

For citing standard reference types, such as books and journals, please consult re:cite.
