SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) is a computer application that provides statistical analysis of data. It allows for in-depth data access and preparation, analytical reporting, graphics and modelling.

The University of Melbourne has an annual IBM SPSS site licence agreement that allows for its use by University students and staff in faculties and departments. Knowledge base article for installing SPSS

Copies of the installation discs (for Windows) are available for loan from the service desk at ERC (Also available on USB)
The IBM SPSS Licence Agreement does not cover computers owned by students. Students may purchase a licence for the SPSS Grad Pack from the Co-op Bookshop or online at Hearne Software. The SPSS Grad Pack comes in Base, Standard, and Premium and Amos editions.Information about the SPSS Grad Pack is available here.
SPSS usage by the University is limited to teaching, learning and non-profit research.
Courses in SPSS are run by both the Graduate Student Association (GSA) and the Statistical Consulting Centre (SCC)
