General information for all new library users.

Find out more about the Library's spaces

The University of Melbourne has 12 libraries across 6 campuses- Parkville, Southbank, Dookie, Creswick, Burnley and Werribee. We provide access to more than 3.6 million items including books, ebooks, maps, journals, videos, DVDs, music, archives and much more.

Opening hours vary between libraries and change at different times of the year.

This map shows the location of the libraries on the University of Melbourne campuses. It also shows where you can find the different collections, where you can get Student IT support and where the extended hour zones are located.

The After Hours Study Zones are shown using this symbol:

We have more than 400 PCs that you can book online using Book it! We also offer places to study and collaborate ranging from quiet study zones, discussion spaces, project rooms and booths.

Students can access Library study spaces and computers in some branches outside Library opening hours. Access is only available to University of Melbourne students and can be accessed by using your student ID card to swipe in. There are After Hours Study Zones at the Baillieu Library, Brownless Biomedical Library, Eastern Resource Centre and Giblin Eunson Library.

These zones are not attended by Library staff, but have full security presence. You can also request a free security escort to your car, public transport, taxi pick-up points, colleges or other locations on or in the near vicinity of the Parkville campus. For more information check outhttp://students.unimelb.edu.au/explore/security.
