The ARTstor Digital Library is a nonprofit resource that provides more than one million digital images in the arts, architecture, humanities, and sciences with an accessible suite of software tools for teaching and research. ARTstor's community-built collections comprise contributions from outstanding international museums, photographers, libraries, scholars, photo archives, and artists and artists' estates.
Encompasses the Grove art online; The Oxford companion to western art; The concise Oxford dictionay of art terms as well as The Encyclopedia of Aesthetics. It is possible to search for images directly from the home page, Search for Images only’. An image search finds images from ‘Grove Art Online’ by keyword and caption text. As the title of the image and its captions are searched it is possible to use broader terms such as ‘Metropolitan Museum of Art’. An image tab is found at the top of every article for which there are images or image links. Grove Art has links to images from Art Resource and ARTstor. Art image links can be searched via the Advanced Image Search. Links to external images are listed on an article’s Image Tab
Content in JSTOR spans many disciplines, primarily in the humanities and social sciences. Search results include tabs to display 'Images from articles' or 'ARTstor Images' where available. Images can be searched via the Advanced search function as a 'caption'.
