The School of Film and TV, Victorian College of the Arts requires the use of CHICAGO MANUAL OF STYLE (Footnotes and Bibliography) OR HARVARD (In-text and Bibliography)

You are required one or other of these styles consistently throughout your written assessments

The use of footnotes in Chicago style provides opportunities to include not only the details of the book, article or other information resource that you have used in the main body of the text, but also allows additional information that may not be appropriate in the body of the text - comments, useful supporting information, to be included.

Citations occur throughout/at the end of the paper, every time you refer to, or directly quote something you have read.  You will also have a bibliography consisting of everything you have read or referred to in your research
