Finding Print books
To find print books, use the University Catalogue.
- You are able to borrow from all the University of Melbourne Libraries.
- You can borrow an unlimited number of non-high use books.
- You should return items during opening hours before, or on, the day they are due.
- We provide external book return chutes for after hours returns at our libraries.
Place a hold on a book
If a book you want is held by the University of Melbourne but is out on loan, you can request it, and the book will be held for you on its return. You’ll be notified by email when it is available.
Finding e-books
E-books can also be searched by using the library catalogue and limiting your search to online books:
E-book platforms allows you to search across the full text of book contents. The Law Library subscribes to a variety of e-book platforms, such as Cambridge, EBL, Hart and Oxford, see the complete list in our research database By Type and select Ebooks.
Bonus and inter-library loan
- If a book you need is not held at the University of Melbourne:
- You can request it via BONUS – the green BONUS icon will show up on the right hand side of the screen after you have done a search.
- As a post-graduate students you can request books via inter-library loan by filling out the ILL form or by clicking on the blue inter-library loans link at the top of the catalogue page.
