Like the University's search tool, Discovery, Google Scholar provides an aggregated search across a huge range of resources. When you search for something, it will indicate the type of resource (book, article, citation) in the search results and then link to options for finding the resources. Please note that if you are not logged into Google Scholar via the University of Melbourne, you may be requested to pay for resources. Search for Google Scholar on the library catalogue or via the e-journals and databases link and follow the links. Alternatively, set up preferences on Google Scholar to link to the University of Melbourne resources by following the instructions here: Software Applications and Tools (scroll down).
Google Scholar only provides limited advanced searching options. These are available once you have conducted a search in the top right-hand corner of the page, or by clicking on the arrow at the end of the search field.
