Opening hours for our libraries and Library Chat have been adjusted over the Easter holidays. Please check our library opening hours page before you visit.
1. Click on the orange Download button.
2. This will bring up an option to either download the e-book or install the software needed to download and view an e-book. If you have not already downloaded the software Adobe Digital Editions you will need to do so before you can download e-books. Click on the blue Adobe Digital Editions link to go to the site to download it.
3. Click on the Download Digital Edition 3.0 Windows link.
If you are using Google Chrome, a file should pop up at the bottom of your browser. If you are using Mozilla Firefox, it will be save to your downloads folder. If you are using Internet Explorer, you can specify to save it to your desktop.
4. Locate where you downloaded the file and open it.
For Google Chrome, you can just click the file the appears at the bottom-left of your browser. For Mozilla Firefox, it should be in your downloads folder. For Internet Explorer, it is recommended to download and open the file from your desktop.
Follow the install prompts. Once installed, you should come to a few authorisation prompts. Follow the images below.
Adobe Digital Editions should now be ready to use. To download and view the e-book click on the Using a downloaded e-book: Windows tab at the top of the guide.
Please note, you only need to do this step once. Once Adobe Digital Editions is installed, you should be able to access it from your programs list or desktop shortcut. Double-clicking on any downloaded e-book file will automatically open Adobe Digital Editions.
