Veterinary Science

The Veterinary Science Library Werribee supports the teaching, learning and research activities of the Faculty of Veterinary Science, the wider University of Melbourne community as well as members of the veterinary profession.

All registered users who have a clear record (i.e. no overdues or fines owing) are able to borrow from the library. This includes staff and students of The University of Melbourne, students from other Universities/TAFEs, and external borrowers.

Loan Periods and Limits

• The general loan period for books is 28 days. Renewals are possible. 

Renewals

28 day and 7 day loan items may be renewed up to ten times providing they have no holds on them for another person. You can renew your own items via your patron record. Items can also be renewed at the Loans Desk or by telephone: 9731 2331 (

Holds

If you require an item that has either a 7, 28 or 90 day loan period, that is already out on loan (i.e. the status has a due date), or is otherwise unavailable, then you can place a hold (request) on it in the catalogue. This includes items from other campuses. When the item is returned it is put on the holdshelf at the location you select (for items from another campus) or at the owning library (for items at your campus).

Fines and Penalties

Please return all items by the due date as Fines and Suspensions apply to late returns.  The return chute is located inside the library near to the library entrance.

The Werribee library is at 250 Princes Highway, Werribee. Melway Reference 206 G5.

 Visitors should sign in at the Veterinary Hospital before accessing the library. Hospital staff can direct visitors to the Library.
