The following guidance is for Legacy RefWorks software. If you are starting with RefWorks, we recommend beginning with the New RefWorks

When creating an account it is important to access RefWorks via the University of Melbourne Library, so that your account is associated with the University of Melbourne.

Select the option to Sign Up for a New Account. Follow the prompts and click the Create Account button.

  1. Use this direct link to access RefWorks or go via the Library website.

  2. Select the option to Sign Up for a New Account.Follow the prompts and click the Create Account button.

  3. You will receive a confirmation email: make sure you note your login name, password and the group code.

  4. You can create multiple accounts: for individual use and for group work. See the instructions for creating an account for a group project
