Why Use Databases?

Discovery is the gateway to tens of thousands of electronic journals, hundreds of scholarly databases and other resources subscribed to by the University of Melbourne Library.  Discovery also enables users to search across multiple databases simultaneously, browse resources and link through to the full-text or print copy. If you need to conduct a more thorough and advanced search then search individual databases.

AGRICOLA (ProQuest Central)
This bibliographic database, produced by the National Agricultural Library, consists of worldwide literature citations for journal articles, monographs, proceedings, theses, patents, translations, audiovisual materials, computer software, and technical reports pertaining to all aspects of agriculture and related fields.

CAB Abstracts
Available via -Cab Abstracts (CABI Digital Library) OR  CAB Abstracts (EBSCO)
Access to applied life sciences literature, including agriculture, environment, veterinary sciences, applied economics, food science and nutrition. International coverage. Covers 1910 up to the present.

This database contains leading agricultural journals published in North America. Offering journals such as Agricultural Research, Forest Products Journal, Journal of Animal Science, Journal of Soil and Water Conservation and Plant Physiology, in Full Text.
