In the subject area of 'Stuttering' I am ranked 5th in Australia by citations to papers published within the last 5 years.
1. Go to SciVal
2. Select the Overview module
3. Select Research Areas from the side menu
4. Change the reporting period from the drop down menu under the research area name to the last five years.
5. Select 'Add Research Areas'
6. Click 'Define a new Research Area'
7. You can create a research area using search terms, multiple entities within SciVal such as selected journals or SciVal topics
8. Instructions are provided on how to add search terms. Use advanced search to create a complex query with multiple terms.
9. Click 'Search'
10. The Refine definition step allows you to limit your search results to particular subject fields, countries and select a 5 year or all year report to be created. After adding filters, click 'Limit to' to apply the filters. Then click 'Next step'
11. Save the Research Area with a name. The research area report will update each time data is added to SciVal. Click 'Save and finish'
12. From the report select Authors. This will show the top 100 authors within University of Melbourne by scholarly output. You can also select Australia, Asia Pacific and World top 100 ranking. The top 100 authors can be re-ranked by citations, citations per paper or Field Weighted Citation Impact by clicking on the arrow to the right of the dropdown menu for these options.
