Export reading list

Readings Online content can be exported as two file types, plain text and RIS. Plain text can be used for bibliographies and reference lists. RIS files exports can be filed into reference management software, which can then be imported into other readings lists. (See Adding readings using reference management software).

  1. Open up the readings list that will be exported.
  2. Click on the Export button, in the menu above the readings and select a file type to create a file of your readings.

  1. Check that the item types in each of the readings are correct, before exporting them into new reading lists or Readings Online software will automatically reject the readings. Example below is from Zotero, showing an item highlighted in the left-hand column. The meta-data of the item is in the right-hand column. The meta-data shows that the item type is a book, which is correct.
  2. Check that the mandatory fields for each reading are entered in the software or a readings upload will automatically be rejected by Readings Online. (See point 6 of Add readings manually if clarification is needed).
