SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) is primarily used for statistical analysis of large-scale survey data. It allows for in-depth data access and preparation, analytical reporting, graphics and modelling.
The University of Melbourne has an SPSS site licence agreement that allows for its use by University students and staff in faculties and departments. Products included in the SPSS license: Amos and SamplePower
SPSS is installed on all Library and StudentIT lab computers. It may also be available in Faculty and Graduate School Labs

SPSS usage by the University is limited to teaching, learning and non-profit research.
Staff may download SPSS from the Software Centre (Windows) or via the Self Service Portal (Mac) on University owned computers.
To download the program on a personal computer, a software installation form is required.

The IBM SPSS Licence Agreement does not cover computers owned by students.
Students may purchase a license for the SPSS Grad Pack online from the Hearne Software website. The SPSS Grad Pack comes in Base, Standard, and Premium and Amos editions.Information about the SPSS Grad Pack is available here.
