Graphic Design

This guide will help you locate Graphic Design resources in the University of Melbourne Library

Searching the Catalogue

To find books on a particular subject, use a keyword search on the library catalogue, for example:

typography

poster design

Simple keyword searching often retrieves a large number of results from a range of subject areas. You might want to limit your search by adding more words from your keyword list, for example:

colour graphic design

art deco graphic design

Most items in the library catalogue are tagged with a subject heading. These headings form helpful and browsable lists of subject resources in the library catalogue. Some Graphic Design subject headings include:

Graphic Arts

Type and type founding.

Graphic design (Typography)

Book design

Commercial Art

Printing

Packaging -- Design

Click on the subject headings attached to the items you find, or search by subject to discover more resources. Note that not all the results will be books; there may be other media such as online resources, CDs, and DVDs.

Don't forget that you can have books sent from other branch libraries to your campus for pick-up.
