SOCI10003 Inequalities: Challenges for the Future Online Library Skills (2019): Introduction

This guide provides an overview of some of the key resources, and the skills needed to use them, for students enrolled in SOCI10003 Inequalities: Challenges for the Future at the University of Melbourne.

Welcome to the SOCI10003 Inequalities: Challenges for the Future Online Library Skills modules.

These online modules are designed to teach you how to use the Library to find resources for your upcoming research essay. Learning these skills early on in your degree will save you time and effort and allow you to find resources quickly and efficiently so you can focus on the writing part of your assignments.

  • These modules have been designed for you to follow in order. Use the navigation buttons towards the bottom of each section. The Start button below will get you started. You can then use the next and back buttons to navigate the modules in sequence.

  • Once you enter a new module, you’ll see a set of learning objectives to give you an idea of the content featured within. You may need to scroll down to view all the content in a section and to reach the navigation buttons. Some content boxes have tabs which can be viewed by clicking on them.
  • You can also use the clickable tabs towards the top of the screen to navigate to each module and each sub-page within them. This is an easy way to go back to a section that you wish to revise or to pick up from when you left off without having to start from the beginning.

We highly recommend that you complete the pre-module survey first so that you can assess what you already know and the areas you need to brush up on.

Click on the 'Start' button to begin the modules.
