Benchmarking using SciVal

SciVal has a benchmarking tool that allows you to compare and benchmark scholarly outputs between a combination of researchers, groups of researchers, your institution, other institutions, or subject areas.

  1. Go to SciVal.
  2. Choose Benchmarking.
  3. Add Researchers, Institutions
  4. You can refine by date range and/or subject area or FoR code to benchmark against.
  5. Set Metric 1 to your desired field.
  6. Metric 2 and Metric 3 are optional - use these if you want to cross-benchmark against other values such.

 

Benchmarking using InCites

InCites has a benchmarking tool that allows you to compare and benchmark scholarly outputs between people, organisations, regions, research areas, journals, books and conference proceedings, and funding agencies. To benchmark authors:

  1. Go to InCites
  2. Select the People module (you can hide the visualization to help focus on the results data at the bottom of the screen)
  3. Search for, select and pin researchers to benchmark:
