European Languages

This guide will help you to locate resources for French, German, Italian, Russian, and Spanish & Latin American Studies.

Where to start?

On the left of this guide you will find a series of tabs that will help you to navigate to the relevant subject.

The Baillieu Library is the home library for arts, humanities and social sciences; here you'll find most of the resources that will be useful for your subject.

However, you'll generally find media items such as DVDs at the Eastern Resource Centre, Giblin Eunson Library and Lenton Parr Library.

The catalogue and Discovery

A good place to start with your research is to search the library catalogue. Here you will find books, ebooks, print journals and media items such as dvds.

Discovery is the library's gateway to our electronic resources. It will allow you to search a wide range of online resources including databases, ejournals and theses.

A useful online tutorial on how to use Discovery can be found here.

Other useful library guides

To help you to make the most of the library's resources and services, we have created a range of subject research guides and how-to guides.
