Fiction and non-fiction for learning activities

Using library collections in the classroom and early learning settings

Why use picture books?

Picture books are important to the development of young readers' literacy and reading skills by helping them to understand concepts through the combination of text and images. They are pivotal resources for early learning as they engage young learners' imaginations, hold their attention, challenge and stimulate their minds and build their vocabulary.
