Readings Online

Add an item to a reading list

Adding readings manually (as outlined in the tutorial below) is the simplest and safest methods to add readings. If you would like to speed up the process, and you are confident with your reference management software, please see the instructions on uploading readings from a reference manager.

Use Open Athens for links

When adding a link to the reading, please use the Open Athens Redirector Link Generator to make sure students don’t hit a paywall. If you have technical problems, or if the generator doesn’t work, please select the locate option and the team will fix it for you.

Upload readings from a reference manager

This method of adding readings to a reading list can save you a lot of time, especially if you have a lot of resources in your reading list, but it has more potential for error.

Only use this method if the following applies:

Prepare a folder with your citations

Export RIS file from your reference manager

Upload to Readings Online

Don't upload your whole library

Please avoid uploading your entire library to Readings Online. If this occurs only the software provider can remove the records.
