A Digital Object Identifier (DOI) is a unique identifier that is assigned to e.g. a journal article, book chapter, data set, or report, and provides a persistent link to its location on the Internet.
An International Standard Book Number (ISBN) is a unique code for the identification of books, and other published material, which is used whenever information on books needs to be recorded or communicated. Individual staff or departments can apply for numbers when they produce a university publication.
