The Library offers browser extensions and other tools that can seamlessly give you access to locked, subscription only content you find online. There's no need to remember passwords, sign in to sites, or go back to the library databases to find an unlocked version. These tools are your access-all-areas pass to paywalled scholarly content.
Lean Library makes is an add-on for your web browser that makes it easy to login to hundreds of sites using your UniMelb credentials. When you visit a website with scholarly content, Lean Library checks if you access to that content through the University of Melbourne Library. If you have access, Lean Library will let you open the content directly. If you don't, it may show you alternative ways to access it, such as Open Access. No more getting caught in a newspaper paywall or spending money on an eBook the library had all along.
The LibKey Nomad browser extension connects you to content that we subscribe to and provides direct PDF download links to our subscribed content when you are browsing online. It speeds up access to the full text on publisher pages, PubMed, from Wikipedia reference lists, and many other sites.
