Rollover an existing reading list

 

 

 

1. Follow steps 1-5, on how to Create a reading list

 

 

  1.   Click in the Please choose a unit box. Type in the first few letters of the subject that is going to be rolled over and options will appear. Choose the correct one. (1)
  2. Click in the drop-down box, Reading list and choose the list, that is going to be rolled over. (2)

  1. To select the readings that will be rolled over click on the expand files button, (A). Then the options are

(B) Pressing the All button if all of the readings are suitable for rolling over.

(C) Ticking boxes next to individual readings that are suitable for rolling over or ticking next to file icons for files of readings, that are to be rolled over.

(D) Clicking on the None button, if none of the readings are suitable for rolling over.

  1. Click on the Next button.

  1. The Readings Online software will generate an email, showing the status of rolled over readings, (see View readings status). 

  2. When readings are ready press Publish button.

TIP

Readings stay within folders they have been selected from

  • If you have selected the grouped folders, your new reading list will display the same grouped folders.
  • Otherwise, they will sit under the "Ungrouped readings" until you move them.

HAPPENS
NEXT?

 

A link to an electronic resource 

  • Will be ‘Active’ if the availability period has started or ‘Pending’ .
  • Test link by clicking on the globe icon.

PDF file 

  • Will be reviewed for copyright compliance.
  • Once approved, test that the document opens correctly.
  • When readings are rolled over, a new version of the reading will take the place of the expired request in the content folder on the left hand side of the screen.
  • The expired reading will be moved automatically into the Unit Library, where it can be left or removed by clicking on the trash can icon
