Diagnostic accuracy studies

A diagnostic accuracy study looks at how effectively a test can identify a specific condition by comparing its results to a gold standard. The study focuses on key metrics like sensitivity, which measures how well the test detects those who actually have the condition, and specificity, which gauges its ability to correctly identify those who don't have it. These studies play an essential role in deciding whether a new test can replace or complement existing methods in clinical practice.
