Article Ranking Within Topic

Example Statement

Our article presenting the issues that dengue fever poses for international travel is in the top 5% of cited articles pubished on dengue fever between 2013-2015

Scopus

1. Go to Scopus
2. Search for the broad issue which your papers discusses (your paper needs to have the term in title or abstract or as an indexed term)
3. Limit the result set to either the year published or years surrounding publication
4. Sort the result set by Times Cited
5. Find your paper in the set and then divide the number in the result set by the total number of articles in the result set to get the ranking
(e.g.  Paper is position 50/1000 total items = Top 5%)

Web of Science

 

1. Go to Web of Science

2. Search for the broad issue which your paper discusses (your paper needs to have the term in title or abstract or as an indexed term)

3. Limit the result set to either the year published or years surrounding publication

4. Sort the result set by Times Cited
